In July 2006 the UK Border Agency (UKBA) announced a number of measures designed to rebuild confidence in the asylum and immigration system. A new process assigned each asylum claim to a “Case Owner” who would have responsibility for managing it from start to finish.

Xafinity Skillbase were awarded the contract to provide a comprehensive programme to train and assess new & existing staff in their new roles and new way of working; including managing their work load and communication. In total, Xafinity Skillbase designed, tested and delivered 18.000+ days of training for over 300 newly hired HEOs and existing staff, involving a blend of on and off-site learning activities.

The asylum foundation training programme was regarded as a huge success by all stakeholders with over 92% of the trainees achieving the desired standard. It is a perfect example of flexibility and professional delivery.
