CaST can help clients with migration exercises resulting from mergers or acquisitions.  These exercises often involve the migration of significant volumes of data, such as portfolios of policies and accounts, as well as more complex legacy portfolios with records split across a number of systems.  

CaST brings together technical expertise, IT know-how, attention to detail and professionalism, ensuring a smooth and efficient migration.    

Recently CaST has been assisting a large insurer to integrate a book of life policies into its existing operations, with involvement in all key stages of the migration, including:

• New system specification.
• Data cleansing pre-migration.
• New system testing pre-migration.
• Migration of data onto the new system.
• Post-migration system testing.
• Troubleshooting and rectification of issues and problems.

This work was performed on a variety of sites, with Hazell Carr consultants working on “both sides” of the migration.  The consultants Hazell Carr deployed to this project included both experienced actuarial students with good product knowledge and systems skills, as well as individuals from a technical administration and compliance background.   

Hazell Carr is also working with the insurer to introduce greater automation, streamline production and ultimately improve operational efficiency over the long-term.
