Hazell Carr developed from a specialist provider of actuarial education and training to become a market-leader in the provision of interim actuarial resource. Our resourcing team provides highly skilled and qualified interim resource to Life Offices, Insurers and Consultancies for special projects and other short-term resource needs. The nature of the work we undertake means that our staff meet a variety of client needs, including delivering and managing special projects, assisting BAU teams and handling peak-load demands.

Our vision is that traditional UK employers of actuaries and student actuaries will continue to seek to reduce their full time employed actuarial personnel, preferring instead to use contractors and outsourcers to deal with peak loads for actuarial expertise (rather than employing sufficient people to cover peak loads). They will also use contractors and outsourcers to supply specialist actuarial skills when these are required (rather than employ specialists year round).
