Claire Teagle

Director

Claire graduated from Birmingham University before attending Guildford College of Law. She was admitted as a Solicitor over 20 years ago and spent several years in private practice, before joining HR Trustees in 1992 to specialise in pensions.

Claire has been involved in all aspects of occupational pension schemes, including scheme mergers, interpretation of legislation, case-law and scheme documentation. Claire has particular expertise in equalisation issues, and pension scheme wind-ups, having dealt with a wide variety of complex legal issues arising from HR Trustee’s winding-up portfolio of trusteeships.  

Claire provides support to her fellow Trustee Directors on IDRP matters and Pensions Ombudsman complaints. She has also managed a number of litigation cases on behalf of HR Trustees where HR Trustees has issued proceedings and she has been actively involved in Alternative Dispute Resolution in relation to such matters.  

Claire’s experience has been on both defined contribution and defined benefit schemes, including as chairman of Trustees of the Voith Scheme, as well as the director responsible for a number of schemes in HR Trustees’ FAS portfolio. Claire also has particular expertise in managing schemes in a PPF Assessment Period.  

Claire is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
